The annual campus wide English speech contest is another initiative of the language center in conjunction with other faculties to provide a platform for many students to demonstrate their English prowess. Students self-select to take part in presenting a 3-minute speech on a theme presented by the organizers. Over the course of several weeks, Speech competitions are held throughout the USTC campus eventually leading to a final competition with distinguished judges from the USTC administration.
